Is the app free?

Yes. There are no ads, purchases, subscriptions or accounts.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The commentary and a public-domain Bible for each language are included in the app. Only the licensed translations marked “Online (API.Bible)” in Settings need a connection; the English default, NKJV, is one of them. Choose the King James Version or World English Bible to read entirely offline.

Why do some verses have no commentary?

We include only Fathers whose commentaries exist in public-domain English translations, and they did not comment on every verse. Some books (Genesis, Daniel, Proverbs, Revelation) have commentary on selected passages only. When a Father treats a whole passage rather than a single verse, the app points you to it.

Why are the Fathers’ full texts in English?

The full homilies and commentaries are the classic nineteenth-century English translations. The summaries are translated into Arabic and Italian; translating the complete works into other languages is part of our vision, and we welcome help with it.

How are the summaries written?

They are prepared with the help of AI (Anthropic’s Claude) working directly from the Fathers’ texts, and corrected against them. They are a guide, not a replacement: the Father’s own words are always one tap away under Details. If something seems wrong, please tell us.

Which languages are available?

The app is available in English, Arabic, Italian, French and Spanish. Summaries of the Fathers are available in English, Arabic and Italian, with more languages to come.
